Flamenco, Carnival, Fiesta!
Those are the three keywords for La Viña. Come Cadiz Carnival time, the Calle Virgen de la Palma comes alive with the sounds of merriment and flamenco. A makeshift stage is erected and a music marathon comes into full swing. There are also chirigotas (performing musical groups) that use satirical lyrics and melodies to poke fun at current events, politicians and the general state of the world.
Carnival aside, the culture in La Viña is very cozy and friendly. Walking along the streets, you get the feeling that everybody knows everybody in this small portion of the city.
